Enhancing Democratic Participation in Bolivia

Casals & Associates, Inc. assisted the government of Bolivia with consultation and cooperation in a democratic context through a $14 million task order under the firm’s Support Which Implements Fast Transitions II (SWIFT II) Indefinite Quantity Contract. SWIFT II is a quick-response contracting mechanism of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI). Under the task order, Casals & Associates worked closely with the government of Bolivia to assist with:

• Promoting community participation in decision-making
• Better serving impoverished rural and indigenous populations
• Developing public-private partnerships by funding grants that engage nongovernmental organizations, neighborhood associations, and government counterparts in addressing the people’s needs

Casals & Associates also ran a separate USAID-funded anti-corruption and rule of law program in Bolivia.
